The first cuckoo clock was developed by german clockmakers in the 18th century. The clock was made of wood and resembled a small rural house with a small cuckoo bird living under the roof. The bird appears in the beginning of each hour, flaps its wings and sings. The traditional cuckoo clock movement is driven by suspended weights. The timekeeping was ensured by a heavy pendulum.
Timegear cuckoo clocks include a battery-powered movement. The timekeeping accuracy is provided by a modern quartz movement. All the cuckoo clocks listed in this section have compact design. The clock height without pendulum and weights is 8"-10". All the small cuckoo clocks have an automatic night mode. The clock sound is disabled automatically at 10 PM (22:00). The cuckoo clock stays silent till 6 AM and the bird will not disturb your sleep.
You to adjust the sound volume or it turn off completely if you need silence anytime. The Timegear cuckoo clocks, as well as all the clock decorations are made of natural wood.
